In Cambodia, Khiri has a young, enthusiastic, highly-educated 11 member team working from offices in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Jack Bartholomew, our British General Manager, is a travel enthusiast who landed in Cambodia after working in Laos’ tourism sector. Our Khmer staff hail from Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, and Kampot, and some have travelled internationally as well.
We pride ourselves on our high degree of destination, product, and supplier knowledge. We know the best restaurants, hotels, and transport companies in Cambodia by heart, and many of our team members possess exceptional training. Oum Linda, our Deputy Manager, travelled to Japan to participate in a one-month ecotourism training with the support of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).
Linda used the sustainable ecotourism and community development knowledge she gained in Japan to found Somborei homestay in Sambor Prei Kuk, which she coordinated via Khiri Reach (the nonprofit arm of Khiri Travel). Linda’s homestay project is now one of the main tourist attractions in Kampong Thom and an example of Khiri values. Not only has poverty has been reduced in the Kampong Thom commune as a result of income earned from homestay guests, but has also given our clients a chance to see and experience authentic local life in Cambodia.
Khiri’s Cambodia team cultivates a grassroots, family atmosphere, and no task is too big or too small—our team will do everything we can to ensure that our clients enjoy the journey of a lifetime when visiting Cambodia!
